Bajaj Finserv Ltd organised the third edition of its hackathon, HackRx. The annual event brings together students across India who compete against the brightest minds, and are mentored by top leaders from the industry for developing business solutions. The third edition of the two-day hackathon in Pune saw registrations by over 1,000 students. It is now set to host over 120 college students who will showcase solutions to a real time business problem. The last two years had witnessed participation from over 3,000 students from India.
This year’s event consisted of ten problem statements ranging from setting up in-app nudges, SNAP product co-purchasing networks to hospitals centralised reviews, mobile app credit score, provider invoice text curation, among others. Participating students were divided in groups of two-five to present a solution for the stated problem.
About HackRx 4.0
HackRx is the Annual Flagship Hackathon hosted by Bajaj Finserv Group where participants get a stage for competing against the brightest of geeks while being mentored by top leaders from the industry for developing solutions that matter!
Winning teams get an opportunity to be a part of the prestigious BYTE (Bajaj Young Tech Engineers) program. BYTE program spearheads hiring of the best engineering talent in the country across top-tier Engineering institutions. Over the years, we have exponentially widened our network of participating institutes and are currently partnering with 10 campuses across India.
HackRx is where Engineering students from across the country compete to build solutions that matter while addressing real-world industrial problem statements sponsored by various companies from the Bajaj Finserv group. These span across critical domains like customer behaviour analysis, real-time fraud detection, performant distributed systems and more. Apart from the exciting set of cash prizes, winning teams will stand a chance* to take their ideas to production at Bajaj Finserv.Â

Eligibility
- Any student currently pursuing an Engineering degree (B.E/ B.Tech) in their second/ third or fourth year of degree is eligible to participate in HackRx 4.0.
- A single team should comprise of minimum 2 and a maximum of 5 participants.
- Each team must have 1 Female member.
- A team should comprise participants from one institution only but can be from different semesters/domains.
- The registration process may require providing personal information, and team details (if applicable), and agreeing to the terms and conditions of the hackathon.
- Participants should carefully review the eligibility criteria and ensure they meet the requirements before registering.
Competition Rounds
Deep-dive Webinar
Prior to the preliminary round, a deep-dive webinar will be conducted to provide participants with insights into the hackathon theme, problem statement, and relevant industry trends. The webinar will cover essential information and resources that participants can leverage to develop their solutions. Attendance at the webinar is strongly recommended, as it will help participants gain a better understanding of the hackathon requirements and increase their chances of success.
Pitch Deck Submission
As part of the preliminary round, each participating team will be required to submit a pitch deck. Use this template:Â . The pitch deck should outline the team’s proposed solution to the problem statement provided. The pitch deck should include details such as the problem statement, solution overview, technology stack, key features, potential impact, and any other relevant information. The pitch deck should be concise, visually appealing, and effectively communicate the team’s solution and its value proposition. Ensure you use the template provided, deviation from the same would be considered invalid. After the evaluation of the pitch deck submissions, the shortlisted teams for the next round will be announced. The list of shortlisted teams will be communicated through official channels, such as the hackathon website or email. Shortlisted teams will be notified about their selection and provided with further instructions regarding the next steps of the hackathon.
Meet Your Mentors – Webinar with Shortlisted Teams
A dedicated webinar will be organized for the shortlisted teams to discuss the expectations, guidelines, and rules for the subsequent rounds. This webinar will provide an opportunity for the shortlisted teams to clarify any doubts, seek clarification on the problem statement, and gain additional insights from the organizers. Attendance at this webinar is crucial for the shortlisted teams to ensure they have a comprehensive understanding of the hackathon requirements and can prepare effectively for the next stages. A mentorship webinar will also be conducted to introduce the shortlisted teams to their assigned mentors. Each team will be assigned a mentor who will provide guidance, support, and technical assistance throughout the hackathon. The mentorship webinar will allow teams to interact with their mentors, discuss their ideas, seek advice, and establish a working relationship for the subsequent rounds. Teams should actively engage with their mentors and make the most of this opportunity to enhance their solutions.
HackRx 4.0 GRAND FINALE
The shortlisted teams will compete against each other to present their fully developed solutions to a panel of judges. The Grand Finale will be held offline at SIT Pune. The teams will have a designated time slot to present their solutions, demonstrate their functionality, and explain their approach. The judging criteria will evaluate the uniqueness of the solution, technical implementation, scalability, user experience, impact, and overall presentation. The winners will be announced during the grand finale, and prizes will be awarded to the top-performing teams.
