About TCS CodeVita:

TCS CodeVita is a programming contest organized by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to encourage college students to adopt programming culture and experience the joy of programming. It is held annually and is open to all graduate students. The contest aims to promote competitive programming and grow programming skills among students. The top rankers of the contest get the opportunity to interview with TCS for job offers.

The contest started off as a team-based competitive programming event, turning into an individual programming competition Season 6 onward. In 2015, it entered the Limca Book of Records as the largest team programming contest in India. It witnessed 197,000 student registrations, 45,861 competing teams, and over 236,900 code submissions that year. To support the multiple code submissions across seven programming languages during the six-hour participation window for TCS CodeVita, a robust and scalable platform was needed.

TCS CodeVita 2024 Exam Pattern

The TCS CodeVita contest consists of 3 rounds. The stages involved in this competition are as follows-

1) Pre-Qualifier Round:

The pre-qualifier round for TCS Codevita is carried out online for 6 hours. The participants are presented with a problem and are supposed to come up with a solution within the stipulated time. This competition is carried out worldwide; However, in India, there are two zonal rounds that the participant will have to go through before appearing for Pre-Qualifiers. The round contains six questions, out of which the participants will have to solve three to four questions to move on to the next round. The difficulty level of this round is the lowest compared to the other two rounds.

Programming languages available are C, C++, C#, Java, PHP, Perl, Python, and Ruby. Those who perform well in this round receive direct job interviews from TCS.

2) Qualifier Round:

The qualifier round for TCS Codevita is conducted online. Participants who have cleared the pre-qualifiers are allowed to sit for the qualifier round. The difficulty level in this round is higher compared to the pre-qualifiers. Unlike the pre-qualifiers, in the qualifier round, the participants are monitored through a webcam. Like the pre-qualifier, the participants are given a real-life problem in the qualifier, and they have six hours to come up with a solution. Those who perform excellently in this round are offered impressive salary packages from TCS.

3) Grand Finale

Participants who qualify in the Qualifier round are invited to attend the Grand Finale held in one of the TCS Campuses. The top three participants are declared the winner of the competition and get a chance to win a cash prize of 20,000 USD.

The participants must know any one of C, C++, JAVA, C#, PHP, Pearl, Python, and Ruby for all the stages.
